Renaissance of a classic

WERIT Kunststoffwerke presents new products, features and areas of application from the electrical installation material segment at Light+Building 2012

RENAISSANCE OF A CLASSIC

Altenkirchen / April 2012. WERIT Kunststoffwerke is presenting a number of innovations from the electrical installation segment at Light+Building 2012. By focusing in particular on practical modifications to existing product ranges and developing additional applications by way of new developments or using proven products that are already in place, WERIT is able to present itself as a provider of solutions to and partner of building contractors, architects and other trades involved at the world's leading trade fair for architecture and technology.

High quality WERIT ceramic terminals reintroduced
The success of the halogen lamp has triggered the comeback of a real classic; WERIT has now reintroduced ceramic connecting clamps to its range. The terminals approved according to DIN EN 60998 with an insulator made from white glazed porcelain (KER DIN 40685) are heat resistant up to 350 °C and are suitable for low-voltage use. The clamp body is made from nickel-plated brass and galvanized screws made from steel. WERIT offers the newly launched 1, 2 or 3-pole connecting clamps either with or without mounting hole for cable cross sections up to 4 mm², 10 mm² and 16 mm².

Go West: WERIT breaks into the American market
WERIT's dimensionally stable polyamide terminals (DIN EN 60998 / DIN EN 60335) are certified according to the CSA (Canadian Standards Association) and UL (Underwriters Laboratories). This approval is the prerequisite for entering the market in North, Central and South America. Günther Mackens, Authorised Signatory and Sales Director at WERIT, explained: "Before our polyamide clamps for machinery and plant engineering purposes can be placed on the market in America, they must be tested for any potential risks, particularly with regard to flammability. Particular attention is paid to the fire safety of electrical products, mainly as a result of the wood construction techniques prevalent in North America and their partially open installation in ducts and channels."

Rapid roll out: Practical clamp solution in WERIT junction boxes

Thanks to its new practical clamp solution in junction boxes, WERIT has increased the tempo in the world of electrical installation products. Instead of the traditional way of laying a "swallow's nest" in the junction box, the wiring is via the clamp solution in the junction box. The cable can simply be plugged into the junction box and fixed in place with cut clamps.

New: More opportunities with WERIT main line branch terminals

WERIT has expanded its portfolio of main line branch terminals. The new additions include 1-pole main line branch terminals with cross sections of 25 mm² and 35 mm² which are now made with eight outlets. Up until now, WERIT had a maximum of four outlets per pole in its range. By using them as high quality DIN EN 60998 connecting clamps, these main line branch terminals from WERIT open up new fields of application that go beyond a mere electrical cabinet. The use of a main line branch terminal as a connecting clamp has new areas of application, for example, in thin-film photovoltaic systems or construction site power distribution points due to the required levels of flexibility and certification in place.

WERIT's profile
With its headquarters in Altenkirchen (Germany), WERIT Kunststoffwerke W. Schneider GmbH & Co. KG has championed innovative products, the majority of which are made of plastic, and currently employs more than 600 employees throughout Europe at ten different sites.
