Industrial transport packaging for hazardous substances and flammable liquids

Always take care when transporting liquid hazardous substances and flammable liquids. For these critical applications IBC Container product lines

are always the first choice. Here’s how WERIT Intermediate Bulk Containers avoid accidents during the transport of dangerous goods and protect humans, materials and the environment.

The transport containers are designed, manufactured and approved for the highest standards when it comes to the transport of hazardous substances.

Regular checks by our WERIT-internal quality assurance system (QSP) and the Federal Institute for Material and Testing (BAM) guarantee quality material and manufacture of the highest level.

Intended specifically for the transport of flammable liquids, we offer our POLYex IBC with an inner container, comprised by multiple plastic layers and an outer layer permanently conductive. Flammable liquids are earthed by the conductive valve and the earthling cable connected to the frame. This feature provides safety at all times in potentially explosive working areas of the Ex zones 1 and 2, for example.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs):
Where exactly does the HDPE material come from?

HDPE is a robust and resistant plastic which, in case of our IBC containers, is transparent and protects the contents from UV radiation. Our IBC accessories are also made of this special material. HDPE is produced industrially by way of the polymerization of ethene. This raw material was originally milky and waxy, but nowadays it has developed into a cutting-edge thermoplastic material with ideal deformation characteristics. This plastic can be optimally adjusted by using additives to meet individual requirements. The HDPE used by us is dimensionally stable at temperatures from -40 to 70 °C and is resistant to most acids, alkalis and chemicals.

One final interesting fact: HDPE has been used commercially in piping systems, cable insulation and packaging materials since 1957.

What filling holes and/or valves are available for your IBC containers?

The filling holes measurements are the same on all three product lines. The ECO line IBC (Non UN)-, the TOP line IBC (UN), as well as the POLYex IBC-Container either have a DN 150 fill opening or NW 225 with a screw cap and optional ventilation. Additionally, the ECO line IBC (NON UN) is available with a DN 400 fill opening and ring lid.

All our IBC containers have DN 50 or DN 80 drain valves, either built in or replaceable.

Can I also use a WERIT IBC Container as a rainwater tank?

Of course, our containers are suitable for almost all liquids – so, why not use them as a rain barrel, too? Even the food industry is currently using IBC containers as water tanks.
